We welcome all new students to the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue with warm hearts and not congratulations on your acceptance. We are delighted receiving new brothers and sisters joining IIUM society. IIUM offers social and cultural diversity of its students and staff in the professions and community. this diversity has created a vibrant an rich learning environment that prepares graduates  for a borderless workplace. Thus, we encourage you to explore in everything before you enroll. Even thou we already in the middle of third week, it is still not to late to give a tip that you may use:

# 1 - Ask if you do not know. Asking is a key to survival and success. It is not exaggerate thing to say. Here, you are on your on. You cannot depend on others to give you something if you not asking. From here onward there is no spoon-feeding anymore, it is you who need to ask something to make it happen. Do not be afraid to ask coz you got nothing to lose 

# 2 - Explore every field of study. Do not overly concerned about declaring your majors immediately or change courses easily. Nowadays, there are many cases of students having a job that is not related to the degrees they earn. There also some cases that students drop out halfway of their study due to not able to cope with studies saying that the subjects is not interested. Your actions sets who you are in the next 5 years. Plan carefully your life and career. If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail. With this in mind, we encourage you to select courses that intrigue you, and to investigate areas of study you have not encountered before.
 
# 3 - Stay Alert! Being IIUM students, you need to stay alert on your surroundings. Make sure you keep update information on notice board of your department, kuliyyah, mahallah, library, etc. Some are essential and some might not important but a beneficial to know. We do not want to regret just because not knowing things that happen around us, right?

# 4 - Develop skills that will enhance your succeed in any career. Graduate professional schools and businesses look favorably upon students being able to read critically, think independently, and express their thoughts intelligently. Furthermore, developing and completing a challenging academic program will give you the sense of accomplishment you need to embrace the opportunities that await you after graduation. There are lots of club that you can join to build up your skills such as the Debate Club, Entrepreneurs Club


# 5 - Health Check. Always make sure your health is in tip-top condition.Three things you need to do to keep your health on top condition. First, eat well - do not skip your lunch however busy you are, you must at least drink six glasses of water daily. Secondly, sleep well - Having eight hours of sleep is a part of being healthy. This would give your mind and body enough time to rejuvenate. To avoid feeling very tired, you should take short breaks as well during the day. So whenever the opportunity comes, you can iktiqaf at masjid and have a qailullah. Finally, workout regularly. Stretching your muscles and sweating for thirty minutes a day can help make you feel better. Moreover, it would give you the energy you need to complete your other activities and tone your body. This is one good way to protect you from diseases and ailments.
